New Tee Shirts

Exciting news? Some of you may know that we have a new tee shirt design with Max Branding in Pasco, Washington.

We have a black shirt that I will bring Wednesday, barring some emergency. I hope our instructor, Bill, can show a white one. (Other colors may be available too.)

I will bring a sign-up sheet for those who may want me to order for them. Alternatively, you can order one in person at Max Branding in Pasco if you prefer.

I think wearing the tee shirt enhances  pride and group identity. Even if that were not true, it is a way to unobtrusively increase public awareness of our classes. It’s great advertising. Promote what  you love!

The shirts are cool, and the logo was designed by our own Kelley Muntean. The printer may have tweaked them for better printing but you will recognize the logo if you belong to our Facebook Group.

About Pricing

My shirts were about $17 each but can run a few bucks more for higher quality. It depends on what material and or style we choose.

In my form you may indicate  how much you want to spend: Basic (under $18); Better (under $24); or Best (under $30). I will do my best for you.

Or as mentioned above, you can order for yourself in person.

Basic Principles of Yang Style Tai Chi

  • Posture is erect and relaxed. Breathe slowly and deeply.
  • Sink down in legs to a comfortable position and maintain the same level during 95 percent of the form.
  • Move as though you are in water, fluidly, with a slight sense of resistance.
  • First to move is the intention, eyes, head, then torso, then step, then shift weight.
  • Movement is continuous; no stopping between the forms.
  • Bow stance is the most stable stance, with feet shoulder width apart (left to right and front to back), and the back foot should be at 45 degree angle.
  • Feet move in and then back out in the Bow Stance (most of the time).
  • Shift weight off the full (weight bearing) leg before pivoting.
  • Lower body (legs) is rooted to the ground; upper body moves like the branches of a tree; feel your center at the Dantien (center of being).
  • Focus on the Chi: Feel it as you move.
